Verdun is an old sage, once a field agent of the Inquisition, now the chief librarian of the retired Rogue Trader Lazarus Huss. Seeing him surrounded by his assistants, it would be downright impossible to guess the kindly old man had once been an active servant of the Inquisition. But that is exactly what he was, and what he still is, to some extent. Huss and the Inquisition have a deal where Verdun checks over all of the esoteric artifacts he collects, and in return the Inquisition doesn’t ask too many questions about how he procures them as long as he makes sure to give any artifacts and books that Verdun deems too heretical, dangerous or forbidden to the Inquisition.
Recently, Huss acquired a collection of books that Verdun recognized as something the Inquisition would be interested in – the Diaries of Drazitine.
Harratos killed Verdun to prevent him from getting dragged away by the Crow.
